Where silence speaks, and symbolism rests beneath snow.
Winter in Carolingia Tarot is the fifth tarot deck from Ukrainian artist Dmytro Ryzhak — creator of Bloody Tears Tarot, Fantasy Garden Tarot, City Labyrinth Tarot, and Rediscovered Classic Tarot. Entirely illustrated using ballpoint pens, resulting in intricate linework, atmospheric shading, and remarkable detail.
Inspired by the Carolingian Empire of the 9th century, the deck evokes a collective vision of medieval Europe — snow-covered landscapes, layered winter garments, and quiet, solemn expressions creating a world suspended in stillness. The winter landscape adds a contemplative quality to readings: a sense of pause, endurance, and quiet strength beneath the frost.
A borderless 78-card deck following the classic structure of Wands, Cups, Swords, and Pentacles — intuitive for experienced readers, visually distinctive for collectors.
