The Beauty of the Tarot de Marseille

The Tarot de Marseille holds a special place in tarot history.

Known for its striking figures, symbolic details and traditional pip cards, it remains an influential system for tarot readers and collectors around the world.

Unlike many modern illustrated tarot decks, the Marseille tradition uses numbered suit cards with arrangements of the suit symbols rather than fully illustrated narrative scenes.

This approach encourages readers to develop their interpretations through number symbolism, suit associations, visual patterns and relationships between the cards.

The Pastel Recoloured Edition preserves the recognisable character of this tradition while offering a softer, more contemporary colour experience.

A Fresh Perspective on Familiar Imagery

Colour can have a remarkable influence on the way we experience a tarot deck.

The softer palette of this Dusserre edition brings a different visual mood to the familiar Marseille illustrations, inviting readers to notice details and relationships that may feel different in more traditionally coloured versions.

For collectors who already own a Marseille deck, this edition offers an interesting opportunity to compare how colour influences the atmosphere of a reading.

For newcomers, it provides an appealing introduction to the distinctive visual language of the Tarot de Marseille.
