A Dreamlike 78-Card Tarot of Myth, Emotion & Transformation
Enter the strange and beautiful world of Blood Moon Tarot, where traditional tarot is transformed through personal mythology, ethereal watercolour artwork and four extraordinary suits: Dreams, Songs, Skins and Honey.
Some tarot decks interpret an existing world.
Blood Moon Tarot creates one.
Created and fully illustrated by artist Sam Guay, Blood Moon Tarot is a deeply imaginative 78-card deck filled with dreamlike imagery, personal mythology and emotional symbolism.
Originally born as an independent tarot project before being brought to a wider audience by U.S. Games Systems, this beautiful edition retains the distinctive world that made Blood Moon Tarot such a sought-after deck while giving it a suitably luxurious physical presentation.
The cards are borderless.
The artwork is ethereal and immersive.
The edges are painted a rich burgundy red.
And instead of simply reproducing the familiar tarot suits, Sam invites us into an entirely different symbolic landscape.
Welcome to Dreams, Songs, Skins and Honey.
🌙 A Tarot Built from Personal Mythology
Blood Moon Tarot feels intensely personal.
Sam describes the deck as a home for their own stories and personal mythologies, but the imagery deliberately leaves space for readers to weave their experiences into those stories too.
The Major Arcana unfolds through enchanting, dreamlike visions.
But it's within the Minor Arcana that Blood Moon really begins rewriting the rules.
Rather than Wands, Cups, Swords and Pentacles, we encounter four unique suits:
Dreams • Songs • Skins • Honey
They create a tarot landscape designed to explore emotion, intuition and transformation, while encouraging the reader to form their own relationship with the imagery.
For someone accustomed to Rider-Waite-Smith symbolism, that makes Blood Moon fascinating.
You recognise the skeleton of tarot beneath the surface.
But you're exploring it through an entirely different mythology.
🩸 Dreams, Songs, Skins & Honey
Even the names invite questions.
What does a Dream reveal that we've buried beneath waking thought?
What does a Song carry between ourselves and others?
What happens when we shed a Skin?
And what might we discover within Honey, something simultaneously created, gathered, nourishing and precious?
Rather than rushing to translate each suit immediately back into its traditional tarot equivalent, Blood Moon encourages you to spend time inside its own symbolic vocabulary.
Look first.
Feel.
Notice.
Then interpret.
It's the sort of deck that rewards a reader willing to become curious again.

🔮 The Reading Experience
Blood Moon isn't a deck I'd rush.
This feels like one to explore.
Pull a card without opening the guidebook immediately.
Look at what Sam has painted.
Which detail catches your attention?
What emotion arrives first?
Does the image feel comforting, unsettling, familiar or completely alien?
Then open the book and explore Sam's own perspective.
That dialogue between artist, artwork and reader is where a deck like this becomes particularly powerful.
Sam describes Blood Moon as a tool for sitting with struggles, navigating our internal emotional landscapes and connecting with the mystery of the world around us.
That's considerably more interesting than simply asking it whether Derek is going to text back.
Although presumably Blood Moon will tolerate Derek if absolutely necessary. 😂
📖 A Hardcover Guidebook Worth Having
We need to make more of this on the page because this isn't a flimsy little leaflet hiding underneath the cards.
Blood Moon Tarot includes a 144-page, full-colour illustrated hardcover guidebook.
It explores the imagery within the cards and includes self-reflection questions and unique tarot spreads, giving readers tools for developing their own relationship with the deck rather than simply providing keywords.
Sam has also explained that a digital guidebook is deliberately no longer offered because of concerns around artwork theft and counterfeit decks, making the physical companion book an important part of this edition.
For collectors, that's another reason to make sure you're buying the genuine complete edition.

It could certainly be explored by a newer reader too, but I'd particularly recommend it to someone excited by the idea of learning Blood Moon's own symbolic language rather than relying entirely upon familiar tarot conventions.

About Sam Guay
Sam Guay is an artist and creator whose work explores storytelling, personal mythology and the strange emotional landscapes that exist between the familiar and fantastical.
Blood Moon Tarot grew from that deeply personal artistic world, with every card fully illustrated and filled with imagery drawn from Sam's own mythology. Sam describes the deck as a place where readers can also weave their own tarot journey through imagination.
That invitation is perhaps the most important part of Blood Moon.
You aren't simply visiting somebody else's world.
Eventually, you begin bringing pieces of yourself into it.
🖤 Why We Love It at Oneness Emporium
There are plenty of tarot decks that change the artwork while leaving everything underneath virtually untouched.
Blood Moon Tarot takes a bigger risk.
Dreams.
Songs.
Skins.
Honey.
Four words are enough to tell you that you're about to encounter tarot differently.
And we love that.
There is enough traditional structure beneath Blood Moon to give experienced readers something to hold onto, but enough creative freedom to make you curious again.
Add Sam Guay's extraordinary artwork, borderless linen cards, those deep burgundy edges and a proper full-colour hardcover companion book, and this feels much closer to an artistic tarot experience than simply another deck.
It disappeared into our sale section for a while.
Now it's back in stock.
And frankly...
it's far too beautiful to be hiding there. 🩸🌙
